Monetization in Games ft. John Romero & Co.
Aalto University Developing Entrepreneurship (Aalto ENT) and International Game Developers Association (IGDA) Finland are co-organizing a seminar that brings top experts from the games industry to Finland to talk about monetization.
A Learning Seminar on How to Monetize in Games "Effectively and Ethically"
Speakers include the legendary Doom Co-Creator John Romero, Maarten Noyons (CEO at International Mobile Game Awards), Michail Katkoff (Director of Product Management at Rovio) and Oscar Clark (Co-Founder at Fundamentally Games) who will share their experiences on effective and ethical ways to monetize games.
The seminar hosts university students, game makers, as well as experts in a new setup focused on learning. Participants will work together, using group facilitation techniques and methods from the Game Executive (Aalto ENT’s world-class leadership program), to hack monetization from various viewpoints e.g. design, product management, players/users, and technology. By the end of the seminar, each group will submit a 2-3 minutes video about their key findings and the winners will be selected and announced by John Romero at the after party.
We are also inviting companies outside of the games for cross-industry discussions.
The seminar is held at Aalto Design Factory on October 19, 2018, in Espoo, Finland. Seats are limited to 200 people attending in person and the talks will be live-streamed for up to 5000 worldwide audiences.
